Cotton futures are trading 3 to 10 points lower this morning. Most contracts settled 34 to 70 points lower on Monday, while a few back months were higher. The US dollar provided pressure, up 215 points for the day. The USDA Adjusted World Price (AWP) is 64.22 cents/lb through this Thursday. The International Cotton Advisory Committee increased their projection for 2017/18 world cotton production 0.18 MMT to 25.74 MMT. That would be 2.74 MMT larger than the previous year, as ending stocks were raised 0.34 MMT from last month to 19.24 MMT. Online cash sales of 16,527 bales were reported on the Seam, with prices down 76 points to 67.84 cents/lb. The Cotlook A index was down 55 cents on December 1 to 83.15 cents/lb.
