Cotton Market News and Commentary

Cotton futures are down 65 to 76 points on Monday, with pressure coming from crude oil, currently $2.16/barrel lower. The Cotlook A Index was down 40 points on January 25 to 82.6 cents/lb. With the FSA offices open, USDA released their updated Adjusted World Price on Thursday @ 64.90 cents/lb. As the USDA employees get back to work, we should start seeing Export Sales and other reports. There is still a back log of data, so it may take a week or so to get everything sorted out.

Mar 19 Cotton is at 73.4, down 73 points,

May 19 Cotton is at 74.91, down 66 points

Jul 19 Cotton is at 76.22, down 65 points
