Cotton Marginally Lower at Midday

Cotton futures are down 24 to 42 points on Wednesday. The US dollar index is higher again at midday. The one day delayed Crop Progress report indicated that 57% of the US crop had been planted as of Sunday, just about matching the normal pace at 58% and last year at 61%. TX planting progress was shown at 48% planted (4% above normal), with GA 76% complete. The Cotlook A index for May 28 was up 100 points from the previous day to 79.50 cents/lb. The weekly Average World Price (AWP) is now 59.37 cents/lb, down 14 points from last week.

Oct 19 Cotton is at 68.75, down 42 points

Dec 19 Cotton is at 68.1, down 37 points

Mar 20 Cotton is at 68.770, down 24 points
